On behalf of the Cadre of Hawaii of the Grand Priory of America, it is my privilege to invite you and the members of your respective jurisdictions to join us in Honolulu, Hawaii, for the 2027 Hawaii Investiture of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, to be held January 7–10, 2027.

We would be honored to welcome members of our Order from around the world to the islands for what we hope will be a meaningful gathering of prayer, fellowship, service, and fraternity.

This Investiture will take place during the bicentennial observance of the arrival of the Catholic faith in Hawaii and in the islands where Saint Damien of Molokai and Saint Marianne Cope, both honorary members of our Order, carried out their extraordinary ministries of service to those affected by Hansen’s disease. Their witness holds a special place in the life of our Hawaii Cadre and gives particular meaning to the presence and mission of Saint Lazarus in these islands.

One of the most meaningful moments of the weekend will be the reception into honorary membership of the first living patient from Kalaupapa to be received into our Order. Given the ancient origins of Saint Lazarus in ministry to those affected by Hansen’s disease, this will be an extraordinary moment of continuity between the earliest mission of the Order and its living witness in Hawaii today.

Throughout the weekend, we look forward to welcoming our Lazarite family for opportunities to worship together, renew friendships, strengthen the bonds between our jurisdictions, and celebrate the continuing hospitaller mission of the Order.

We have worked to keep the cost of participation as accessible as possible. Registration for the principal Investiture events from Friday through Sunday is $150 per person, with the Thursday evening welcome reception available separately for $120 per person.

To assist with travel, we have also arranged a United Airlines group discount for travel to Honolulu from destinations served by United. The discount is available for travel between January 4 and January 13, 2027, allowing additional flexibility for those who may wish to arrive early or remain in Hawaii following the Investiture. We would be grateful if you would share this invitation and flyer with members of your jurisdiction who may be interested in attending. The registration deadline for postulants is October 30, 2026, and the registration deadline for members of the Order is November 15, 2026.

For those who may have postulants seeking admission to the Order, we also warmly welcome candidates from other jurisdictions to be invested with us in Honolulu, provided that all necessary application and approval processes are completed through their respective jurisdictions in coordination with the appropriate leadership of the Order.

We recognize that traveling to Hawaii represents a significant commitment, and we are deeply grateful to anyone who may be able to join us. Our hope is that this gathering will offer not only a memorable Investiture, but also an opportunity to experience the unique spiritual and historical connection between Hawaii, the hospitaller mission of our Order, and the enduring example of Saints Damien and Marianne.
