The Grand Bailiwick of the Czech Republic announces with deep regrets that, after a long and severe illness, Dame dr. Henrieta Tondlová, DGCLJ, DMCLJ, passed away. .Doctor Tondlová was a specialist in onkopsychology and gerontopsychology. For many years she worked as a psychiater-volunteer in hospices of the Order. In last years, she was a member of the Board of hospices. This is a enormous loss for The Grand Bailiwick as Dame Tondlová was one of the most respected and devoted members.

The Grand Master visited the Vatican's Secretary for Economy, His Eminence Cardinal George Pell, EGCLJ at his offices located in the Vatican's gardens at Torre San Giovanni. Cardinal Pell and the Grand Master had a relaxing talk about the future of the Order and the new challenges it faces. His Eminence addressed the ecumenical aspects of the Order and encouraged the Grand Master to keep inspiring all of its members to continue working on all the valuable hospitaller work the Order has been developing throughout all of these years. His Eminence also praised the fact that the membership is growing day by day and from his position also committed to intercede in favor of the Order.

The Grand Master recently spent a few days visiting the Order's Ecclesiastical Grand Prior, Monsignor Michele Pennisi, EGCLJ Archbishop of Monreale. The Grand Master visited the beautiful Cathedral located outside Palermo in a small town on the slope of Monte Caput. The Cathedral is an astonishing example of the combination of three styles: Norman-French, Byzantine and Arabic. It is famous for its breathtaking inner mosaics which refer to the Old Testament.

The spectacular setting of the Cathedral and Parish Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Southwell, Nottinghamshire saw the Bailiff’s Special Investiture on Saturday 2nd August 2014. Hosted by the Commandery of King Offa, it was a splendid occasion with some 100 members, guests and visitors in attendance.
