At the Vigil Service, prior to the National Investiture of the Grand Priory of England and Wales,  at Farm St Church, the Flag of the Order was blessed by the Chaplain-General, and presented to Chev. Col. Dr Glyn Jones, KLJ. He will take the flag to Camp Bastion in Afghanistan, and it will fly above the medical unit for the term of his tour of duty. 

On April 5, The Priory of Belgium organized a fantastic Investiture in the Basilica of the Holy Blood. 140 people participated at this event. 9 new members were installed by the Grand Commander & the Grand Chancellor of the Order.

Members of the New South Wales Commandery hosted in Sydney on 12 March 2014  a Dinner to farewell their Commandery Chaplain, His Eminence Cardinal George Pell, EGCLJ, prior to his departure to Rome, to take his new position to oversee the finances of the Holy See and Vatican City State. The National Chaplain of the Grand Priory of Australia, Monsigneur Anthony K. Toms, flew from Melbourne to speak on this special occasion and to propose the Toast to His Eminence, who responded with his whit and good humour. 
Cardinal Pell has been a member to the Order of Saint Lazarus for thirty years and was a founding member of the Victorian Commandery.

The Chapel of the VaszaryKolos Hospital in Esztergom (Hungary) closed down in 1954. For a long time the building was used as an x-ray storage room for the hospital but ended up in a ruinous condition. Donations from the Order allowed the Chapel’s renovation. Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, Cardinal Dr. László Paskai consecrated it again in September 1991.
