On Saturday the 10th of June a small but dedicated group of members of the Grand Bailiwick of Scotland gathered at the tranquil and lovely setting of the home and gardens of the Baillie Ron and Dame Elizabeth Partington for an afternoon Garden Party. The setting was perfect just on the outskirts of Edinburgh at the foot of the Pentland Hills. Peter and Irene Rae provided the Gazebo: however it took a few members sometime to erect the structure fighting against a slight breeze and no assembly instructions.  We go it up in the end, (Hooray). We were very pleased to see our good friends Charles and May McKerrell who had travelled up from the Borders to join us for the afternoon.

The farewell ceremony for grade 8 students from Karolina Catholic Primary School took place in the great church in Vác on Saturday morning June 17, 2017. Those pupils who had lived an outstanding religious life this year were also awarded the prize of the Commandery of Vác named Saint Nicolas of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem. The Saint Lazarus award is a medal on chain for the girls and a medal on green ribbon for the boys. H.E. Bishop  Dr. Lajos Varga officiated at the mass.

Retired bishop Lajos Pápai celebrated a holy mass in Saint Ursula’s church on Sunday  21 May 2017 at 10 a.m. Afterwards there was a full day of celebrations in the garden of the Episcopal castle of Győr. Children from Csíkszentsimon gave a performance, and Béla Kulcsár KLJ, leader of the Commandery of Győr of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, who is an accordionist, gave a concert after the opening ceremony.
The principal guest was the Franciscan monk Csaba, who works with the orphans of Transylvania. The main sponsor of the event was András Veres, diocesan bishop of Győr.

The beautiful setting of St Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge, London saw the National Investiture of the Grand Priory of England and Wales on Saturday 29th April 2017.

 With over 150 members, visitors and guests in attendance, the choir of St Paul’s sang the Introit ‘I was glad’ as the Investing Officer, The Bailiff H.E. The Chevalier Charles Holloway GCLJ, KMLJ, clergy, members of the Grand Priory and distinguished guests processed into Church.
