Saturday 7 April 2018 marked the final Investiture presided over by H.E. Dame Countess Éva Nyáry DGCLJ-J as Grand Prior of Hungary. The Solemn Investiture and Gala Dinner took place in Budapest.

Dr. Sándor Pellek KLJ was invested as the new Grand Prior, and the Countess now assumes the title of Grand Prior Emeritus.

A strong delegation from the Grand Commandery of the Castello in Malta attended the Ecumenical Service held at the Collegiate Church and Basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady, in the historical and fortified city of Senglea. The service, led by the Archbishop of Malta Mons Charles J Scicluna, was held under the auspices of Christians Together in Malta and the Diocesan Ecumenical Commission.

The Grand Priory of the Maltese Islands celebrated the feast of St Paul's Shipwreck with Holy mass at the Sanctuary of Saint Publius at Rabat, Malta.  The mass was celebrated by Senior Chaplain Father Thomas Moore and a good number of members from the Grand Priory and its Gozo Commandary.  The account of Paul’s shipwreck and the three-month winter time stay on Malta can be found in the Bible’s Acts 27:27 through 28:11. Nevertheless it is to be noted that the Bible says the storm was in the Adriatic Sea, though Malta borders the Ionian Sea and this is because in ancient times, the Adriatic’s boundaries were considered to extend much further south.

The Grand Priory of England and Wales held the National (Northern) Services of Vigil and Investiture in Liverpool, England on the 27th and 28th October 2017.

This took place in Liverpool Parish Church, dedicated to Our Lady and St Nicholas, which is situated near the famous Royal Liver Building at the Pier Head on the Mersey, by permission of The Rector, The Revd Dr Crispin Pailing.
