Bruce M. Harrington, GCLJ.<br><br>Harrington welcomed the Luxembourg Jurisdiction represented by the Chev. <title><![CDATA[IRELAND - Former President of Ireland and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights will receive a Knighthood ]]></title>

Mrs. Robinson is to be made Dame Grand Cross of Merit (DGCMLJ) in the Order&#8217;s Companionate of Merit at a ceremony to be held in Dublin during the Grand Master&#8217;s visit in September 2010.<br><br>The investiture will take place on 30th Sept. 2010 in St. Patrick&#8217;s Cathedral in Dublin / Ireland.&nbsp;]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[INTERNATIONAL - The Grand Master's Vision for the future of the Order]]></title>

              <img src="http://www.st-lazarus.net/international/cutenews/data/upimages/GMport-120.jpg" alt="" align="left" vspace="5" hspace="10"> During the Holy Year Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, the Grand Master during his meeting with the Heads of Jurisdiction stressed the following points:<br><br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Heads of Jurisdiction meetings would now become a regular event which is basic for the Order, and is indeed required by the Constitution,<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The meeting of the Heads of Jurisdiction was a fruitful and constructive exchange of information particularly as plans for future needs.The Grand Master placed an emphasis on.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; more involvement<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; better communications,<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; absolute transparency, and<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; more contact between Heads of Jurisdiction for better communication and exchanges of information particularly in regard to charitable works.<br><br>In conclusion the Grand Master said a strong message was given to the world at large of the strength, unity, spirituality and pride in belonging to the Order of Saint Lazarus.<br><br>The future is brilliant and we will go ahead with our hospitaller works.<br><br>After the Pilgrimage the Grandmaster sent a letter to all Heads of jurisdictions and thanked everybody involved in the organization of the event and all the over 400 pilgrims that have come with the Heads of Jurisdictions from all over the world and representing practically the whole of our beloved Order. <br>The full wording of Grandmasters letter is available for download in the Members Area <a style="font-weight: bold;" href="../../members//download/index.php?action=downloadfile&amp;filename=30%20-%20Grandmaster%20after%20Santiago%202010.pdf&amp;directory=Declarations&amp;" target="_self">"Declaration - N&deg; 30 - Grandmaster after Santiago"</a><br><div style="text-align: right;"><font style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(102, 102, 102);" size="1"><span style="font-style: italic;">anto/kpp</span></font><br></div>]]></description>

                                                                                                                                                      From the 21st to 23rd May 2010, over 400 Pilgrims from the Order of St. Lazarus met with Grand Master Don Carlos Gereda de Borbón in the historic City of Santiago de Compostela to take part in this now ancient pilgrimage. <br><br><span style="font-weight: bold;"><img src="http://www.st-lazarus.net/international/cutenews/data/upimages/Compostela_-_Pilgr_Welcome-250.jpg" alt="" vspace="5" align="left" hspace="10"> Welcome for the Pilgrims by the Grandmaster</span><br><br>On Friday the 21st of May, a welcoming reception for the Order&#8217;s Pilgrims was hosted by Grand Master Don Carlos Gereda, and by the Spanish Prior The Chev. Joacquin Cayuela.&nbsp;&nbsp; This was held in the old Chapel of the Monastery Reyes Catholicos, which is located across from the Cathedral of St. Jaques in Compostela. Those assembled were thrilled to greet notable pilgrims who led a walking group along traditional routes travelled by Pilgrims to Santiago de Campostela:&nbsp; these were the Chev.      The worldwide Order of St Lazarus was represented at the Second  Ecumenical Church Day by members of the Grand Bailiwick of Germany. More  than 150,000 visitors attended this remarkable event and had the  opportunity to learn about the Order's activities. One of the highlights  of the Ecumencial Church Days in Munich was a charity concert for  street children with a performance of John Rutter's Mass of the  Children.<br><br> In St Anna's church, an audience of more than 700 was   treated to outstanding musical performances from a choir and orchestra   comprising more than 100 artists. .....<br><br>]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[SYDNEY - Grandmaster wants to involve youth in the works of the Order]]></title>

                     The Grand Priory of Australia held the 2010 National Chapter at the Sheraton on the Park Hotel Sydney from 16th – 18th April. The Grand Priory was privileged to have the Grand Master, His Excellency Don Carlos Gereda de Borbňn, Marquis de Almazŕn. The Grand Master attended the Plenary Session of the National Chapter and presided over the Investitures.<br><br>During his address to the Plenary Session of the National Chapter the Grand Master emphasised that the Order was not an NGO but an Ecumenical Hospitaller Order, an Order of Christian Chivalry, to defend and protect the Christian faith.<br><br style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">More than 375 registrations for the Pilgrimage</span><br>The Grand Master spoke of the up-coming Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela where he would meet with the heads of 40 national Jurisdictions. An important part of this meeting was to outline the Communications Plan, where members from all Jurisdictions would be kept fully informed specifically on the spiritual and hospitaller works of the Order. The GP Spain has already registered more&nbsp; than 375 participants. <br><br>The Grand Master spoke passionately about the need to involve youth in the works of the Order.
