Projects in the Time of Corona
Cautious optimism is spreading in Germany: Some of the protective measures against the spread of the coronavirus are being eased. We are regaining leeway – yet prudence and above all consideration remain paramount! Practised solidarity means to continue keeping your distance, to act wisely, and above all to show consideration! And exactly this is being done in the projects of the Order of St. Lazarus: Our partners are using all their energy to continue supporting those in greatest need. This is currently more challenging than ever: Lockdowns hamper the supply of food and hygiene products. This makes it all the more important for the members of the Grand Bailiwick to set examples, because the concern for the weak, the old and the sick remains.

Australian Capital Territory Commandery
The Australian Capital Territory Commandery has launched an online appeal to its loyal regular supporters for the L'Arche Foundation in lieu of the traditional dinner, which is usually held in late May. All Commandery charitable financial reserves have recently been expended in support of L’Arche. The nature of the lockdown has meant that Members have been incapable of getting out into the community to raise funds in the normal way.

The Grand Prior
As early as March 26th, wishing that our Order would contribute to serving its hospitaller vocation, our Grand Prior addressed all of you to suggest that you respond to the call for blood donation issued by the French Blood Establishment, as donors are becoming rarer in this period of pandemic. This appeal remains relevant.
