We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of our dear friend the monsignor Mathias (Mathieu) Jozef Maria Hanneman.

Mathieu Hanneman was born on August 31st 1950 in Kerkrade, The Netherlands, which means that he only became 65 years of age. Much too young in our perspective.
On October 9th 1976 he was ordained as a priest. For 25 years (since April 1991) he was pastor of the parish Saint Servaas in Maastricht and dean of the deanery Maastricht.

On 18 February 2016, the Grand Prior Emeritus of Portugal , Prof. Dr. Dom António de Sousa Lara, Count of Guedes, was presented by the President of the Portuguese Republic with the award of Grand Officer (Grande-Oficial - GOIH) in the Order of Prince Henry (Ordem do Infante Dom Henrique).
