Székelyudvarhely, a town in Harghita county, Romania, is home to nearly 35,000 people, of whom almost 32,000 are Hungarian.
The town is called "The Student City" since every fourth person is a student.
Székelyudvarhely, Budapest's sister city, warmly welcomed the donations made by the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem on 28 October 2016.
Items donated included clothes for adults and children, tables, chairs, cribs, bedding, televisions and a lot of kitchen equipment. We also donated firewood at the request of the families in need.

The Commandery of Győr of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem organizes a charity show in the Psychiatric Institute of the County of Győr-Moson-Sopron every year.

The patients at Dénesfa, which is located in the former Czriráky castle, always look forward greatly to the excellent  programme of music performed by the commandant, Béla Kulcsár KLJ, on the accordion. On this occasion, his performance of a particularly difficult piece – Rentz’s Gavotte – whilst blindfolded and with the instrument under covers, drew particular admiration.
 

Caroline Isted OLJ, a member of the Grand Bailiwick of South Africa, will be joining The Pilgrims Way - an old English pilgrimage from Winchester Cathedral to Canterbury Cathedral (158 miles/225kms). Organised by the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton Ecumenical walking Pilgrimage Group, this is a 'Walking a Prayer for Peace' pilgrimage, offered as a “prayer of solidarity and support for those people suffering the effects of conflict or fleeing persecution, praying that the world may become a fairer, safer, and more peaceful place.”

The Hungarian Grand Priory of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem continues its work of caring for the poor and needy through providing necessary household equipment.
On 21 July 2016, a 7.5 ton truck arrived in one of the poorest district of Budapest, the 10th, Kőbánya with donations for poor families, the elderly, disabled and homeless people.
