The Western Cape Commandery of the Grand Bailiwick of South Africa recently raised a substantially larger amount of much needed funding for its designated beneficiaries - an orphanage and a shelter for terminally ill indigent elderly folk in one of the country’s poorest communities – than has ever been achieved at a single Commandery event before.

For the third year in a row and working in partnership with the Cape Town Burns Supper Club, members of the Commandery used social media and personal selling of raffle tickets before and at the event to support an auction at the Dinner.

On March 22nd, 2018, the Imperial Calcasieu Delegation partnered with the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA) and the Southern Eye Bank to conduct their 2nd Annual Givers Candlelight Celebration at St. Patrick Hospital Convent Chapel in Lake Charles, LA. This celebration was to honor organ, tissue & cornea donors. The date was chosen because it was the end of National Eye Donor Month (March) and the beginning of National Donate Life Month (April).

Members of the Board of Trustees of the German Initiative for the Middle East (Deutsche Initiative für den Nahen Osten - DINO) met at the Centre of Excellence for Humanitarian Aid of the Münster University of Applied Sciences (Kompetenzzentrum Humanitäre Hilfe der FH Münster) to discuss further cooperation and development of the Initiative at this historic Münster location.

The city of Münster views its importance as the venue for the negotiations leading to the Peace of Westphalia in 1648 as a lasting commitment to humanitarian and peace-building action in the present. It provides a location of unique significance for diplomatic soundings today.

During the Advent period, the Grand Priory of the Maltese Islands in conjunction with its subjurisdiction in Gozo has organised a series of philanthropic activities addressed towards various recipients. The first activity was held on the 3rd December when, in collaboration with the local council of the town of Marsascala, a carol singing public event was organised featuring local town talent supported by the VOICE STUDIO led by Dame MarieTherese Vassallo. The proceeds of this event were targeted to support the AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED that supports missionary projects in countries where Christians are being persecuted for their faith.
