The ETAG is a project of a Dutch foundation founded in January 1990 to support the young people in Rwanda, Africa. This foundation is linked by its board members to the Grand Bailiwick of the Netherlands.

After collecting the necessary money and materials, the building of the school started in 1990 and was finished in October 1992. Location: Gisenyi, Lake Kivu, Rwanda. The school was equipped in a way that it was possible to have a complete theoretical and practical education of car mechanics. Already from the beginning the number of potential students was bigger than the number of places in the school.

The members of the Grand Priory of the Maltese Islands through its Non-Governmental Organizations, the Order of Charity and the Ordo Sancti Lazari Melitensis Fundatio, have supported and participated in a weekend-long Television Marathon which collected a total of €202,855 in aid of missionary work. The Marathon, organized by the Socio-Religious Transmission Foundation [Fondazzjoni Xandir Socjo-Religjuz], was transmitted on all the Maltese television stations.
