    Bringing Christians together

Although our pain and tears are very human feelings, which even Jesus shared as he wept at the tomb of his friend Lazarus, they are not the last word for the life of a Christian.  For us who believe, the last word is one of hope in eternal life through the faith we share in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ who, in turn, grants us resurrection.  We Christians, in the face of the death of a loved one, must look up, full of hope, toward the living God who grants eternal life and again affirm our faith in the communion of saints.

We call upon our Heavenly Father, who is rich in mercy, to welcome our brother Don Carlos into his Kingdom of Light and Peace and give thanks for the gift of all whom we have known, in appreciation of this Christian Hope.

Michele Pennisi, Archbishop of  Monreale and Ecclesiastical Grand Prior of the Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem
