    Bringing Christians together

The following morning, postulants Philip and Neil were joined by fellow postulant Sherri Donaldson along with the promotees for prayers with the Grand Baillie and Chaplain General at the Cathedral at 0930 with the remaining membership joining them for the Service at 1100. We were honoured to have with us deputy lord lieutenant for Perthshire Alastair Cruickshank, Provost of Perth Dennis Melloy and Carrick Pursuivant Gorge Way of Plean (representing the Lord Lyon). All took part in the opening and closing processions.

The Rev Celia Matthews welcomed us at the service. In a splendid new touch, the lessons were read by two of the postulants, Neil and Philip. Rev Colin McAulay, Senior Chaplain, gave the sermon. Grand Baillie Roy Scott then admitted the three postulants and invested our promotees - two chaplains, four commanders, one knight, a knight commander and two dame commanders. Our Grand Baillie, Roy Scott, recently gained his own coat-of-arms, and in recognition of this, was presented with his Justice Cross by Baillie Ron Partington.

After the service, a civic reception (generously given by Perth & Kinross Council) was held in the Royal George Hotel, followed by lunch chaired by our Grand Baillie.
