Walking a Pilgrimage
After the Grandmaster’s invitation and appeal to all jurisdictions, members of the Order have met and talked about their plans to walk as pilgrims to Compostela.
Dame Herma Wijers, DLJ and Chev. Dr. Ron Hendricks, GCLJ have formed a walking group and made a plan to combine their walk with a sponsored donation initiative that will support a social project in Romania. As experienced hikers, they have made a detailed plan with description to inform interested members about participating in this food-donation walk part of the pilgrimage.
The international rules for the pilgrimmage is that you have to walk at least 100 kilometers and then show your Credential, with stamps for all of the intermediate stops, upon arriving in Compostela.
An accompanying letter describes this special walk during the pilgrimage, and lists the initial and current sponsors for the Order’s donation program to Romania:

Dame Wijers and Chev. Hendricks invite all members and friends of the Order to walk with them to Santiago de Compostela.
The St. Lazarus-Pilgrimage brochure also provides you with information about the Compostela walk, which includes the following information:
